CISS'99 Information for Authors

Abstract

The following are instructions on how your paper should be printed for inclusion in the conference proceedings. We are assuming that all authors have access to a high quality laser printer that will produce a camera-ready manuscript. This guide is also available under several different formats: Words Document, Adobe Acrobat, and PostScript. A Latex style file is also provided: ciss99.sty.

1. Important Information

The conference Proceedings will be photocopied from your camera-ready manuscripts. The length of a regular paper is limited to six pages, including figures and diagrams. To contain printing costs, we are forced to truncate at six pages all papers that exceed this limit, unless the author pays $75 for each extra page when the final manuscript is submitted. While the Call For Papers requested that the length of a short paper be limited to one page, two pages will be accepted for the proceedings.

The deadline for receipt of the camera-ready manuscript is the last day of the conference, March 19, 1999. We must enforce this requirement so that the printer's deadlines can be met.

2. Illustrations

All halftone illustrations (pictures) should be clear black-and-white prints. Do not supply photocopies. These illustrations should be furnished positioned within the copy, or placed at the end of the paper. Make sure that you include a caption for each photograph or line drawing. For best reproduction of line drawings, we prefer the original black on white drawings pasted in position within the copy on the layout paper or at the end of the paper. Do not use poor photostats, blueprints, or photocopies for the drawings, illustrations, or charts, since shades of blue, green, and brown do not photograph successfully.

3. Conclusions

Thank you for your cooperation and contribution. We look forward to seeing you at the CISS in Baltimore.
